The required setup depends on where the domain is registered and which DNS service you intend to use.
Case 1: The domain is registered with SharkASP.NET and will use custom hostnames with SharkASP.NET DNS
- In the Hosting Control Panel, open Websites and add the domain to the appropriate website.
- Resolve the current IP addresses for ns1.site4now.net, ns2.site4now.net, and ns3.site4now.net.
- In DNS Manager, create A records that point ns1.yourdomain.com, ns2.yourdomain.com, and ns3.yourdomain.com to the corresponding name-server IP addresses.
- Contact support through the Account Panel help desk and ask us to register the custom name servers for the domain.
Case 2: The domain is registered with SharkASP.NET and will use your own DNS servers
Contact support through the Account Panel help desk. Provide the custom name-server hostnames and IP addresses so that we can register them for your domain. You can then assign those hostnames as the domain's authoritative name servers.
Case 3: The domain is registered elsewhere and will use SharkASP.NET DNS
- In the Hosting Control Panel, open Websites and add the domain to the appropriate website.
- At the domain registrar, replace the current name servers with the SharkASP.NET name servers shown in the Control Panel.
- Allow time for DNS changes to propagate.
Case 4: The domain is registered elsewhere and will use another DNS provider
Configure the domain and its custom name-server records with the registrar or external DNS provider.
