How to set up two-step authentication in SmarterMail

Two-step authentication adds a verification code to SmarterMail webmail sign-in.

1. Sign in to webmail with the full email address and mailbox password.
2. Open Settings > Account > Two-Step Authentication.
3. Choose an authenticator app or recovery-email verification, then follow the on-screen setup instructions.
4. Enter the verification code to complete enrollment.
5. Save the app password generated for desktop and mobile email clients.

After two-step authentication is enabled, Outlook, Apple Mail, phones, and other mail clients may need the generated app password instead of the normal webmail password. Store recovery information securely.
