How can I view email logs from the Hosting Control Panel?

Control Panel V10 > Hosting Control Panel

You can use the Mail Logs function in the Hosting Control Panel to review recent email activity for a domain. The logs can help you check whether the mail server received a message, attempted to send a message, or blocked an outgoing message as spam.

View the email logs

  1. Sign in to your Hosting Control Panel.
  2. Select EMAILS, then select Emails.
  3. Find the email domain that you want to review.
  4. Under ACTIONS, select View Logs.
  5. Select one of the following log types:
    • Receiving: Shows incoming mail activity for the domain.
    • Sending: Shows outgoing mail activity for the domain.
    • Sending Spam Block: Shows outgoing messages that the mail system blocked as spam.
  6. Select Last 24 hours, Last 2 days, or Last 3 days.
  7. Select Fetch logs.

The results show the log file, the time of the event, and the available log details. Times are displayed in your browser's local time zone.

To find a specific entry, use Filter loaded logs after the results appear. You can search for an email address, domain, error code, or other text shown in the loaded results. The filter searches only the results already loaded in the current window; it does not run a new server search.

The Mail Logs window displays up to the latest 500 matching log lines. If the result is truncated, reduce the selected period or use the filter to narrow the displayed entries.

How to interpret the results

  • A Receiving entry shows that the mail server recorded incoming activity. It does not necessarily mean that the message reached the Inbox; filtering, forwarding, or mailbox rules may still affect final delivery.
  • A Sending entry shows outgoing mail activity and may include a delivery response or error that helps explain what happened.
  • A Sending Spam Block entry means the outgoing message was stopped by the mail system's spam protection.

If you need help investigating an email issue, provide Support with the sender address, recipient address, approximate date and time including the time zone, and any error shown in the log. Do not send your email password.

Notes

  • Logs are available only for email domains that belong to the selected hosting plan.
  • The available history is limited to the last three days.
  • Select Fetch logs again to load the latest available entries.
